The school day and getting around

What does a school day look like?

Each day is broken up into 6 lessons which are 55 minutes long.  The pips will sound to let you know when a lesson starts, ends or if it is break or lunchtime.  You will move between different classrooms for each lesson, you will need to make sure you pack up your bag and take everything with you to each class.  If you do happen to lose something we keep lost property at reception so pop there at break or lunch to see if you can find it.

Below is a timetable similar to what you will be given so that you can see what a typical week will look like.  Your timetable will be the same every week meaning you will soon get used to what you have every day.

Getting around

The Whitstable School may be a lot larger than your primary school, but don't worry all of our new pupils say it doesn't take long to help them find their way around.  To start with you may want to use a map that we will give you.

Our staff and other pupils are always on hand to show you the way if you feel a little lost.  Don't worry, just ask.
