Sixth Form

Welcome to The Whitstable School Sixth Form.  Whether you are already a pupil at the school or are considering joining us, we would like to extend a warm welcome. We have developed an innovative and fresh approach to Sixth Form studies, offering a modern and dynamic experience for our students. With a clear commitment to the personal development and well-being of each individual, we support students in selecting a programme which suits their specific strengths, interests and abilities, and provides clear routes of progression for their future.

We offer a unique approach in that we build our curriculum around our students. We provide a full range of both vocational and academic courses, including traditional A levels and Level 3 BTECs. We have the highest expectations for our students, and place the utmost importance on supporting them to meet their full potential. From specialist sports resources; our own dance theatre; new study spaces and excellent ICT provision, this new curriculum broadens the number of subjects we are able to offer.

We also believe in the development of independent learning and transferrable skills and, as a consequence, offer a varied enrichment programme including work experience opportunities, mentoring and support for younger students, and the chance to organise and oversee fundraising events to name a few. We welcome applications from external students as well as those studying in Year 11 at The Whitstable School, and look forward to working with you in the future. Entry requirements for the Sixth Form are detailed in our prospectus.  All applications should be made through WWW.UCASPROGRESS.COM and applications are accepted at any time.  Please contact a member of the sixth form team for further details.

The Whitstable School is a candidate school* for the CP. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy- a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education- that we believe is important for our students. * Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes visit ibo.org
