Communications & Letters

Clear communication is very important at The Whitstable School.  Please keep the school up to date with any changes to your contact details and other emergency contacts such as grandparents.  To update your information you can do this via My Child At School or by sending an email to the school office.

Below are the ways used to communicate with our parents and carers.

Email, Phone and Text Message

Letters and communications will be sent via email.

Short but important messages such as notification of pupil absence will be sent via text message.

If we need to contact you urgently we will phone in order of priority, this is taken from the information you provide on the Data Collection Sheet which you complete on admission, this is sent out annually for you to review.

Newsletters

Newsletters are used to showcase pupil work, achievement and opportunities such as school trips.  These will be sent via email and added to the website.

Whole school newsletters are sent out at the end of Terms 2, 4 and 6.

Additionally, some year groups or departments may send out newsletters on an ad-hoc basis.

Parents' Evenings

Parents evenings give parents an opportunity to meet and discuss progress with subject teachers.

You will be notified via email when the system becomes live for your child's year group.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is used for independent and remote learning.  As a parent or guardian you can receive email summaries showing your child's progress.  Click HERE for a guide with more information and FAQs.

My Child At School (MCAS) Parent App

MCAS is a digital platform for communicating with parents and carers.

MCAS can be accessed on mobile phones and tablets as a downloadable
application or via a web-based platform.

It is essential that you engage with MCAS as this will provide you with critical announcements from the school. www.mychildatschool.com
