Student Leadership at TWS
Here at The Whitstable School, we pride ourselves on Student Leadership. Students are given the opportunity to get their voices heard in a number of ways.
- Pupil Parliament
In Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, we provide opportunities for all of our students to be part of our Pupil Parliament, where students can raise issues in a meaningful and purposeful way, enabling them to get their voices heard. These happen once a term, so that real change can be implemented.
- Prefects
In year 10 and year 12, we give students the opportunity to be prefects. Students meet three times a term to discuss initiatives for the school community to be involved in. Our prefects uphold the core values of TRACK: Tolerance, Resilience, Achievement, Courtesy and Knowledge, through leading across school-wide initiatives.
Our prefects are role models who demonstrate our TRACK values throughout school life. They promote kindness and respect and set a high standard of behaviour for younger students to follow.
Prefects demonstrate their commitment to personal achievement, academic achievement and achievement in the wider school life, by contributing to whole school initiatives, including assemblies, open evenings and open mornings, along with celebrations of observance days.
